Shiba Inu Resets Shiba Eternity: Returnees Get Rewards, Not Old Cards

Shiba Inu Games, an affiliated company specialized in the development of games for the Shiba Inu ecosystem, announced a major update to their flagship game, Shiba Eternity. The collectible card game (CCG) will see a system overhaul that renders previous accounts and collections incompatible with the new version.

Shiba Inu Games Announces Major Overhaul

According to the newly published FAQ, the revamped Shiba Eternity requires players to migrate to new accounts due to a plethora of new features that are incompatible with the old system. “We understand it is hard to let go of an account that you have painstakingly built up,” Shiba Inu Games stated, “but we are doing everything we can to make the transition as smooth as possible, including providing mind-blowing welcome back gifts.”

Existing players concerned about their past investments need not worry excessively. Although old cards and Shiboshis will not carry over, returning players will receive a compensation package designed to jumpstart their new journey.

The allocation of these rewards will be directly proportional to the players’ previous in-game achievements and holdings. Specifically, the amount of Kibble provided will depend on the number of Shiboshis a player has unlocked, while the Card Packs and Selector Tokens will correspond to the total number of cards and legendary cards, respectively, that the player had accumulated in the old system.

A major feature of Shiba Eternity remains its integration with blockchain technology, particularly through Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs). While the Shiboshis within the game itself are not NFTs, there are 10,000 unique Shiboshi NFTs available on the Ethereum blockchain. These NFTs come with approximately 80 traits across 6 slots, allowing for a wide range of combinations. Players who own Shiboshi NFTs will have access to special game features, including participation in closed beta tests.

An key aspect of the NFT integration is the utility these tokens provide within the game. The owners of Shiboshi NFTs can earn the native token, TREAT, whenever a replica of their NFT wins in seasonal tournaments. This system not only adds a layer of passive income potential but also requires active participation through staking. “We don’t aim this to simply be passive earning, so the Shiboshi NFT holder must perform an action — staking — for them to be eligible to earn TREAT,” the FAQ states.

The game mechanics themselves are strategic, revolving around the selection and use of Shiboshis and their traits. These traits are critical as they determine which cards can be played, thereby influencing the outcome of duels. Players must carefully select their Shiboshi’s discipline, such as Chewjitsu or Bite Thai, which significantly affects gameplay by focusing on different strengths and strategies.

Regarding gameplay expansion, the developers shared that NFT staking will take place on Shibarium, Shiba Inu Games’ own blockchain platform, highlighting their commitment to incorporating blockchain technology more deeply into the gaming experience.

Players looking to engage with Shiba Eternity can participate in a variety of competitive formats, from friendly matches to ranked and seasonal tournaments. The involvement in these tournaments offers substantial in-game rewards, enhancing both the challenge and the rewards of competitive play.
